150th Anniversary Year

This is the 150th year of St Giles Christian Mission, we continue to welcome people to worship and serve God as part of our community.

The Mission started to the poor living in the rookeries of the St. Giles area of London and from that time has proclaimed the gospel to many generations of people especially to the disadvantaged of Society. Throughout the years it maintained homes and orphanages. The work at one of these was in Maldon, Essex which continued for over forty years. The founders pioneered Prison gate work which was part of the early days of the probation service. Just before the Second World War the work was centred at a Mission Hall in Islington where we are still based with a flourishing church at the center of all the mission does.

To celebrate our anniversary we are pleased to announce that a new book St Giles Christian Mission: A journey of faith is now available. This book is the history of St Giles first 110 years from it's founding in 1860 through to 1970. We have copies available to any interested party for a suggested donation of £5. Pastoral Search

We are currently seeking the Lord in the appointment of our next Pastor, someone we hope will be able to continue in the Mission's long tradition of people who have cared for the least and preached to the lost. St Giles is located at 62 Bride Street (on the corner of Westbourne Road) Islington, London, N7 8AZ. We are on the 153 London bus route and are within easy walking distance of both Caledonian Road station (Piccadilly line) and Highbury and Islington station (Victoria line/Overground/national rail)
