Sunday Service
A brief guide to our Worship meetings
All Age Worship
Our main morning service begins fairly promptly at 11am and usually lasts for about an hour we share in times of sung worship, collective reading and prayer as well as having a time for people to bring their offerings to God and a sermon from either one of our regular team or a guest speaker.
We have regualar Sunday Schools for children aged 4 to 15 and a baby and parent room at the back of church for those who have younger children. The Sunday Schools usually go to their classes about halfway through the service and rejoin the adults during the final song
On the 1st Sunday of each month we share the Lord's Supper in Communion after the Sunday Schools have come back in. The Communion is for all baptised believers and is freely offered to each adult sharing our service that day.
On the 3rd Sunday of the month we have an All Age Together service. These services are for the whole Family and have a shorter, more child friendly talk. As a rule they also tend to be a little more involving and vary widely in order, content and presentation.
Evening Study
Sunday evening's at 6.30 we meet for our evening study. We use this as an oppurtunity for a more informal and personal look at God's word. Typically we begin with a few songs of praise and worship, moving into a time when one of the leadership team will give a brief introduction to the passage and theme before we enter a time for discussion and debate on God's word. We then conclude with a few words of summary and a time for prayer.
Please note there is no Evening Study from the 25th of July and throughout August while we are on our summer program. We hope to restart these studies on Sunday the 12th of September
On the first sunday of the month we change format completely and have our Youth Service again this is fairly informal in style, however it is much more contempory in style than our usual evening service and along with a shorter (usually 5-10 minute) talk there is an oppurtunity to share in times of discussion and testimony. While it is aimed more to the youth of the church it is a fairly friendly environment and everyone is welcome no matter your background or age. As an extra attraction we usually share some snacks and fellowship after the service
Please note there is no August Youth Service while we are on our summer program.
Tea and Hymn
We meet at 4pm on the first Sunday of each month for a Hymn sandwich followed by afternoon tea. Our most traditional service is also one of our more popular. It is a much more formal structure with a Bible reading, time of prayer and sermon sandwiched by more traditonal hymns. We then follow this up with afternoon tea where everyone can share a sandwich, piece of cake and cup of tea (or coffee). This service is mainly an outreach to the elderly in our community though it is open to all who wish to come.
Please note there is no August Tea and Hymn while we are on our summer program.
