Opportunities for Children & Youth
St Giles has a long history of working with the children and youth of the area. We host a number of regular activities and also several special holiday clubs and days out. Children workers are part of the fellowship at St. Giles and all undergo Criminal Record Bureau checks.
Sunday School - Sundays: 11am
St Giles has been offering Sunday School for all of it's 151 years and they form the backbone of children's work within the church. Each week in Sunday School we spend time praying, learning the bible, and learning how to apply the Bible to our lives.
Encounter - Wednesdays: 7-9pm
Encounter is our weekly youth group meeting and is open to youth ages10-18. At current there is no regular fee but young people may wish to bring a little money to spend in the tuckshop. Activities include group games, a short message from God's word, question & answer time, and other special activities.
Holiday Clubs
Each year we offer a number Holiday clubs for children of various ages. Typically our Holiday clubs run over Easter Holiday and/or Autumn half-term, however we have run holiday clubs at different times of the year. These are open to any children in the community. We typically run these clubs for the primary school age range
Day trips
Each year we organise a number of day trips to various places and events. This year's August Bank Holiday Family Beach Trip to Brighton was a real success with a mix of various different people making it a day out to remember.
